Blue and SORBA build trails

Blue Competition Cycles has partnered with the Southern Off Road Bicycle Association (SORBA) to help assist SORBA promote land access, trail preservation, and new trail development to enhance mountain bike touring, racing, fun and fellowship for all mountain bicyclists in the south eastern US.

Blue is maintaining its commitment to helping non-profit groups such as SORBA to not only help promote the sport of cycling, but to ensure it has a bright future. According to Blue’s National Sales Manager, Chance Regina, “Here at Blue, we all ride, both on the road and off-road. We know that without the help of groups like SORBA, we wouldn’t have the kind of quality trail riding that we have in the southeast, so our support of their efforts really was an easy decision to make.”

Blue has committed to donating US$100 from the sale of every MTB to SORBA to help build and maintain trails.

Tom Sauret, Executive Director of SORBA and Regional Director of IMBA said, “The partnership with Blue is a great example of the bike industry working with IMBA and SORBA to help grow mountain biking and bike culture. We are grateful for this important support, and are looking forward to a great future together.”

In tandem with this latest tie-up, Blue has been feverishly working on its 2011 range of bikes, and the first group of bikes to get the once-over is the Blue cross bike range.

The introduction of the Norcross for the 2010 season was a great milestone for the company. Taking what Blue has learnt in the development of the Norcross, and the feedback from its partnership with Jonathan Page – leveraging his experience racing on the European cross circuit – the bike is all new and improved for 2011.

Blue has also revamped the rest of its cross range, with the addition of a new carbon frameset and the revamping of its alloy frame. All of the Norcross bikes will be part of the Jonathan Page Signature Series. A portion of all the sales of Blue’s cross bikes will go towards keeping Jonathan in Europe and competing against the best cross racers in the world.
