The 2010 Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series gets underway on 11 April in Sydney, Australia. A global audience can watch the full live TV broadcast of the first event of the season in Sydney exclusively online at www.triathlon.org/tv for free.
Key sponsor partners for the series Dextro Energy, Skins and Suunto have an increased profile this year and will welcome the free race coverage to tri fans worldwide.
With the start of the 2010 season of the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series, Dextro Energy has launched its new sports nutrition range consisting of Carbo Mineral Drinks, Carbohydrate Bars, Liquid Gels and Dextrose Tablets. The products were developed in cooperation with athletes and nutritionists and the new range is especially tailored towards the needs of endurance athletes, such as triathletes, runners and cyclists.
2010 also sees the launch of the Skins TRI400 triathlon specific range. According to the compression and apparel company the tri specific range, based on 400 key fitting points, is cut for comfort while swimming, cycling and running.
The company claims that it is the only high performance triathlon apparel to use ‘in-motion measurement’ to define the correct levels of compression required while in motion. Skins gradient compression is scientifically proven to increase strength, power and endurance. By providing the right compression in the right places, the compression wear accelerates blood flow – delivering more oxygen to active muscles and reducing lactic acid build-up.
Named as Official Timing and Data Partner to the Dextro Energy ITU World Championship Series for the second year running, Finnish heart rate monitor manufacturer Suunto will once again be providing in depth information right from the heart of the race.
Suunto Ambassadors, Javier Gomez, Jan Frodeno, Daniel Unger and Helen Jenkins spent a winter preparing for the 2010 series using Suunto t6c HRMs and Foot and Bike PODs.
With Suunto’s technology, viewers at triathlon.org/tv will be able to see exactly how fast the athletes are moving and their precise location on the race course. Suunto additionally provides official race timing and splits for the entire World Championship Series season.
