Getting active with Polar

Polar has introduced two new training computers designed for consumers who are looking to get active and those who are seeking motivation and exercise guidance. The Polar FT1 and FT2 training computers are easy-to-use and feature large displays and one-button functionality.

At the end of each workout, users receive an exercise summary including the duration of their exercise in addition to average and maximum heart rate.

"Training with heart rate is one of the most effective ways to increase fitness, achieve exercise goals and improve overall health," said Jeff Padovan, President of Polar USA. "With the new FT1 and FT2, the sophisticated technology that Polar is recognised for is now available to consumers in these new easy-to-use products at an affordable price."

Designed for recreational exercisers, the FT1 is a basic training computer with a large digital display that allows users to manually set their target heart rate zones prior to their exercise session. The FT1 provides motivation and guidance, while giving users better insight into how hard their body is working and if they are exercising at a beneficial level.

The FT2 combines all of the features in the FT1, plus automatic heart rate target zone functionality. This technology allows users to receive their age-based target zone – providing guidance for more effective training.

The FT1 and FT2 will be available in June 2010 through authorised Polar USA retail, specialty shops and fitness facilities, and will also be available online.
