Held on 17-18 July 2010, the Dextro Energy Triathlon Hamburg 2010 has now sold out – with a total of 12,900 athletes registered to compete in the age-group, kids and elite competitions. At such a high level of participation, the Hamburg Triathlon is challenging London for the title of ‘largest triathlon in the world’.

“The high number of registrations underlines the importance of triathlon among hobby triathletes,” said Frank Bertling, Managing Director of event organisers Upsolut Event GmbH. “The combination of swimming, biking and running is highly appreciated at every age, even among young kids. This year we have about 4,000 pupils registered for the City Kids Triathlon.”

In addition to the selling out of competitor slots, the expo and side events programme is also booked out. The 6,000 square metres area at the adjacent ‘Jungfernstieg’ gives spectators and participants the opportunity to check out the 50 different exhibitors presenting triathlon and outdoor products.
