The team at OTB Sport continue to build momentum in Namibia with a new event, sponsored by Puma, that taps into the growing trend for off-road racing. The company’s latest event, the AquaSplash Xtrail Run/Walk, takes place on 1 August.
OTB Sport said that it was exited to add an Xtrail run/walk to its event calendar and that it hoped to see Namibia following the world wide trend of growth in xtrail events, especially as Namibia has so much to offer off-road.
The Aqua Splash Xtrail run/walk takes place in the surrounding of Avis, offering great views of the Auas mountains, and as with all trail events there is the big plus of no cars, no noise and no fumes, just 100% pure nature.
The event takes place on a combination of trails, cattle paths, rough ground and river beds. Participants are required to carry their own water. Although, there will be some emergency water stations along the route. Typically the route is hilly and even the fittest of runners will probably walk sections of the up-hills.
The distance is 11.5K for both the walk and run. Prizes are valued at N$10,000. Entry for participants is N$80. This includes a Puma running cap (for all entries received before 26 July), an event drawstring bag with AquaSplash water bottles and an event voucher that entitles participants to a breakfast at the Avis Riding School Restaurant, where the prize giving will be held.
Participants can enter online at www.otbsport.com or at all OTB Sport shops in Namibia.
