Incorporation of Welsh Triathlon

Welsh Triathlon became incorporated as Welsh Triathlon Limited, a company limited by guarantee on 26 March 2010. In his Chairman’s announcement of the incorporation, Steve Butler stated that the new structure is “great move forwards and will assist Welsh Triathlon Ltd in improving its professionalism and accountability.”
Control of Welsh Triathlon Ltd lies with the members who appoint/approve the board of directors and can direct them to taking or refraining from specified actions.
The directors who manage the business of Welsh Triathlon Limited have been assigned specific roles for which they are each responsible as follows:
President: Dr Dean Hardie
Chairman: Steve Butler
Director of Performance: Richard Jones
Director of Finance: Ian Cole
Director of Governance: Clare Hoskins
Director of Rules and Tech: Tom Roberts
Director of Development: Rose Jones
Director of Marketing: Jayne Arnold
This assignment of roles will help Welsh Triathlon Ltd to operate successfully as a company and as a National Governing Body and to develop multisport in Wales.
As a limited company, liability of Welsh Triathlon Ltd directors and members is limited. Incorporation requires Welsh Triathlon to file annual accounts and returns at Companies House.
The first AGM will take place in November 2011. In the meantime, the new body’s Articles of Association are available online.
