Ironman New Zealand hits full house in 13 days

Continuing a recent trend for lronman events worldwide, Ironman New Zealand, has sold out in record time. The full house sign has now gone up on next year’s Ironman New Zealand only 13 days after entries were opened.
It is expected that a capacity 1,500 participants will start in Taupo on 5 March 2011, which will be the first time in the event’s 27 year history that Ironman New Zealand has filled to capacity, let alone achieving this in only 13 days.
The unprecedented interest in the world’s original international Ironman race in New Zealand is in keeping with devlopments throughout the world, which regularly see Ironman events filled to capacity in North America, Europe and this year in Australia.
According to World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), there is no waitlist available for the New Zealand event.
