Kilrush Triathlon to help Irish town prosper

The countdown to the final stage of Sports AI’s TRI3 Series officially began with the launch of the Tri3 Kilrush event in Kilrush, County Clare.

The Tri3 Kilrush event is being staged by Sports AI in conjunction with Kilrush Town Council, Shannon Development and Clare County Council and will attract hundreds of competitors to the West Clare town on 4 September.

The race will be the last in the series of three such events, which started in Galway City in May and will visit Cahir in Tipperary on 10 July. The final event is expected to attract 500 competitors drawing in more than €200,000 to the local economy.

The race is open to all levels and will see participants from throughout Ireland and the UK travel to the West Clare town to swim in the local marina, bike the scenic coastline and run through the streets of the historic capital of West Clare to the finish line.

Officiating at this week’s launch was the newly elected Mayor of Kilrush, Cllr. Liam Williams and Kilrush Town Manager, Nora Kaye.
