The US National Multiple Sclerosis Society in San Diego is offering aspiring triathletes and marathon runners free personal training, fund-raising assistance and entry fees into eight different high profile competitive races.
The offer from the National MS Society is a further illustration of the close partnerships being formed between endurance athletes and charities. The National MS Society package of offers is in exchange for donations towards MS research, and programmes and services for people with MS. Fund-raising minimums vary depending on the race.
Participants must be at least 12 years old. The personal training in San Diego will be provided by Rehab United, a San Diego based physical therapy and sports performance centre.
The National MS Society supported races include: Los Angeles Marathon (21 March 21), Oceanside Triathlon (27 March), Orange County Marathon (2 May), Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon (6 June), San Diego International Triathlon (27 June), America’s Finest City Half Marathon (15 August), San Diego Triathlon Classic (18 September) and Orange County Triathlon (26 September).
