There are major changes afoot at the Nevada Silverman Triathlon. Following another successful 2009 race, Race Directors’ Frank and Meghann Lowery have made the decision to move the race start from Lake Mead National Recreation Park to the Lake Las Vegas Resort. The Loews Lake Las Vegas will also be the official host hotel for the event.
The venue change is a natural progression for this rapidly expanding event. The Nevada Silverman has evolved from a home-grown race with 300 participants, to a world-class sporting event with more than 1,200 participants expected to register in 2010.
The venue change also heralds an exciting new era for the Nevada Silverman Triathlon and its hosts, Lowery’s Multisport Races. The company was recently awarded the contract to host the 2011 ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships, which will be held on the Silverman course.
"Lake Las Vegas provides the perfect start for one of Henderson’s most prestigious city-wide events, Nevada Silverman," said Mayor Andy Hafen. "Additionally, Loews Lake Las Vegas’ selection as host hotel for the event, allows Silverman participants and Destination Henderson visitors a chance to experience the vibrant community of Lake Las Vegas, complete with deluxe accommodation, shopping, dining and outdoor adventure."
The swim course will change completely with the move, while the bike will only be slightly altered and the run will remain exactly the same. Holding true to its reputation as one of the toughest courses in North America, Frank Lowery and his team are promising the new course will not be any easier!
