Philippines triathlon goes long

The Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP) has joined forces with local bike retailer and Orbea dealer BikeKing in staging the TRIKing Long Distance Triathlon. The event kicks off on 25 July 2010 at Matabungkay Beach Resort and Hotel (MBRH) in Lian, Batangas.
The TRIKing event, which marks the start of the long distance racing season in the country, will feature ‘punishing’ races in varieties of 2K swim, 60K bike and 15K run.
“Matabungkay played host to triathlon when the sport was in its early stages and we are glad that the Matabungkay Beach Resort and Hotel through its GM Rico Violeta, is renewing their interest and partnership with TRAP for the future development of the sport using the longer distance event,” said Raul Cuevas, TRAP Director and BikeKing executive.
