Competitor Group Inc (CGI) has showcased its new sprint distance TriRock Series. Positioned as a beginner friendly, fun filled series of sprint triathlons ‘where every participant is treated like a Rock Star’, there are three events scheduled for 2010 in Dallas, Vancouver and Orlando.

CGI is clearly broadening its appeal to all budding triathletes across North America. As the ‘world’s largest endurance sports platform’, CGI has an array of media and participatory event assets.

At its core are 45 national events including the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, Kids Rock Series, Columbia Muddy Buddy Ride and Run Series and Competitor Triathlon Series. Combined with these are CGI’s multi-platform media offerings that include Competitor Magazine, Triathlete Magazine, VeloNews and Inside Triathlon with their respective digital properties on Competitor.com.

The TriRock Series of sprint distance ‘entertainment’ triathlons feature live entertainment at the ‘red carpet’ finish line and music on the course that will keep participants moving and grooving! Race day festivities include a post event party with beer tasting, a family fun zone, and a ‘splash and dash’ for the kids. The weekend kicks-off with an onsite expo featuring vendors, product sampling and pre-race clinics held by seasoned tri veterans.

The sprint distance triathlons will consist of a 500m swim, 20K bike and 5K run with the option for a triathlon relay team at each event. The 2010 TriRock Series Race Schedule opens in Dallas on 19 September, followed by Vancouver on 3 October and Orlando on 7 November.
