SheROX Triathlon adds weekend getaway to Bermuda

The expanding all-women sprint triathlon series, the SheROX Triathlon Series, has unveiled a new race for 2010 – SheROX Bermuda on 14 November 2010.

The SheROX Triathlon Series is owned and produced by Philadelphia Triathlon LLC, organiser of the popular Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon in the US. Hosted in conjunction with the Bermuda Department of Tourism, SheROX Bermuda will take place at The Fairmont Southampton.

With shimmering turquoise seas, pristine pink sand beaches, exotic tropical flora and spectacular sunsets, The Fairmont Southampton will provide a picturesque backdrop for the SheROX Series finale.

"This is truly the most beautiful triathlon race course of the SheROX Series and I want all of our athletes to share in the experience," said Barb McKeever, SheROX Series Director. "I can’t think of a more scenic location to wrap up the race season than in the paradise of Bermuda.

“Just a short flight from the entire eastern coast of the United States, SheROX Bermuda is a great opportunity for our athletes to plan a weekend getaway and get in one last race prior to the holiday season. We’re thrilled to be working with the Bermuda Department of Tourism to bring the SheROX Series to Bermuda."

With the addition of SheROX Bermuda, the 2010 SheROX Series will include a total of 7 races with other tri stops in Philadelphia, Miami, Tempe in Arizona, Aurora in Colorado, Webster in Massachusetts and Asbury Park in New Jersey.

"The Bermuda Department of Tourism is proud to be a part of the inaugural SheROX Bermuda Triathlon," said William Griffith, Director of Tourism. "The SheROX series is fast becoming a staple in the women’s triathlon world and we are pleased to be included in their events. We envision that women from all walks of life will sign up for individual competition or as a team and come to Bermuda for this showcase event and see firsthand what Bermuda has to offer."
