Triathlon Australia has selected global executive search firm Boyden to undertake a search for its new Chief Executive Officer. The new CEO will succeed Andrew Hamilton who left the organisation to pursue other endeavours.
The search will be jointly led by Michael Catlow, veteran sports industry search leader and Managing Director of Boyden Melbourne, and Anne Stuckey, Managing Director of Boyden Sydney.
“The new CEO of Triathlon Australia has the opportunity to help support the growth of this incredibly popular sport and the development of top international talent,” Catlow said. “Boyden will search for a proven leader with a sports affinity, strong business and people skills, as well as the ability to work closely with outside stakeholders.”
Australia is currently a leading nation in the sport of triathlon, with elite and age group athletes gaining top placements at numerous World Championships, the 2000 and 2004 Olympics and the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
Triathlon Australia is the official national sporting organisation responsible for the management and delivery of the sport of triathlon, duathlon and aquathlon within Australia. It is also the official body responsible for the implementation of multisport within Australia.
Approximately 160,000 participants compete in hundreds of events held annually throughout Australia, including triathlons, duathlons, aquathlons and Ironman races. Triathlon Australia works closely with key stakeholder groups such as the Australian Sports Commission and many state and local government bodies and authorities to provide a fun and safe environment for multisport athletes.
Triathlon Australia has eight affiliated state and territory Triathlon Associations which are official members of the national body, with approximately 9,000 affiliated members and 180 affiliated triathlon clubs.
