Jan Tropberger new European Director of Sales and Marketing at Sugoi

SUGOI Performance Apparel, part of the Apparel Footwear Group (AFG) division of Dorel Industries, has appointed Jan Tropberger to the position of European Director of Sales and Marketing, AFG.

As SUGOI further strengthens its presence in Europe, Tropberger will lead the sales and marketing efforts for the region, in coordination with a focus on overall AFG strategies, sales goals and profitability.

Tropberger has spent the past six years in the sales and marketing field. Most recently, he was International Sales Director for Europe Mideast and Africa (EMEA) at Cycling Sports Group (CSG), also a division of Dorel Industries. Based in Basel, Switzerland, in this role Tropberger travelled to more than 25 countries and focused on business development and expansion, managing multiple brands and key accounts.

“It’s a time of rapid change and growth for us, and I’ve no doubt that Jan will make a significant contribution to our key plans to grow and build our brands globally and achieve superior customer service,” said Bruno Perreault, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, AFG.

“From his base in Europe, Jan will be responsible for leading our sales growth in existing markets and opening new markets within Europe. I am very pleased to welcome him to the team.”

A former competitive cyclist, Tropberger said, “I have a pure passion for cycling. From the product to the lifestyle, it has had a very positive impact on my life. I am excited to join SUGOI and such a team of talented people who are committed to seeing the AFG group prosper. I have been a cyclist all my life and SUGOI has always had premium apparel products.”

Tropberger added, “Now that SUGOI is competing for the first time in its history for the podium in the Tour de France, it is time that we step up our game and strive for market leadership. I’m excited about building and expanding the SUGOI business with our retail partners globally and in making our products available to more performance focused consumers.”
