Trio of developments for Multisport Performance Institute

Multisport Performance Institute (MPI), a leading provider of multisport coaching, training camps, clinics, specialized services and events, has unveiled three new initiatives to build upon the ‘rapid growth experienced by the company in 2011.’ The three latest developments – new coach appointment, event series sponsor and new online store – continue to expand the reach of MPI heading into 2012.

Addition of new coach – West Coast expansion
Coach Peter Harsch joins MPI as the company’s first West Coast coach. Based in San Diego, Peter is a USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach, 12-time Ironman finisher and 3-time Kona qualifier and finisher. With more than 17 years of triathlon experience, Peter has competed in over 80 events.

Peter is also an ABC-Certified Prosthetist and previously served as the US Paralympic Track and Field Team Prosthetist, and as the Team Director for the USAT Paratriathlon team in 2009 and 2010. Peter’s deep experience and recognized skills and expertise in paratriathlon add significantly to MPI’s coaching team.

Commenting on the new appointment, John Murray, TeamMPI’s President said “Coach Peter Harsch brings a wealth of coaching experience in triathlon and paratriathlon to MPI. Over the past year, Peter has become a close associate as a result of TeamMPI’s extensive involvement in paratriathlon. We are excited to welcome him to our team, and plant the TeamMPI flag in California.”

MPI’s Portofino Sunset Tri Series secures sponsor
MPI is also pleased to announce that Pensacola based Bikes Plus has signed on as the presenting sponsor of the Portofino Sunset Tri Series. Bikes Plus, with two locations in Pensacola, is an acknowledged triathlon resource for the Gulf Coast region, specializing in Trek and Profile Design.

The Portofino Sunset Tri Series, presented by Bike Plus, is a 9 race Super Sprint distance held on Thursday evenings. 2012 is the second year for the series, and the first race is on 19 April 2012.

TeamMPI Online Store
Lastly, MPI is excited to announce the launch of the TeamMPI Online Store. The store offers a full line of customized Champion System TeamMPI apparel, as well as accessories by Sock Guy, CamelBak, nutrition supplies from Energy Lab and MAP, plus gift certificates for MPI coaching services. MPI will be expanding the available product lines in the TeamMPI Store in upcoming months.

“With this trio of new announcements, MPI is clearly demonstrating the growth of the company in our coaching team, event profiles and diversification of services and revenue streams,” said Mark Sortino, CEO of TeamMPI. “We look forward to continued growth of MPI, our sport, and significantly, the personal and performance growth of the great athletes we work with as we head into 2012.”

Established in 2010, Multisport Performance Institute provides a diverse spectrum of services uniquely structured for both novice and experienced multisport athletes. Multisport Performance Institute offers 2 levels of multisport coaching plans, the MPI Performance Package program, Single Day, Multi Day, and Long Course training camps and clinics, and Paratriathlon training in conjunction with the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF).
