The Nation’s Triathlon welcomes number of new sponsors

The Nation’s Triathlon To Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), the largest international/Olympic distance triathlon in the US, has introduced new official sponsors for the 2012 event including AT&T, Clif Bar, Craft, Gryphon, PNC Bank and Spirit Airlines.

The international distance triathlon, taking place Sunday 9 September 2012 in the US nation’s capital, features a spectacular course that includes a 1.5K swim in the Potomac River, 40K bike course through downtown D.C., and a 10K run along Washington DC’s monument corridor adjacent to the nation’s best known memorials and historical landmarks.

“The diversity of sponsorship for the 2012 race reflects the diversity of interests among the endurance sports community,” said Molly Quinn, Vice President of Triathlon at Competitor Group, organizer of The Nation’s Triathlon since its acquisition earlier this year. “Technology, travel, finance and fitness are integral to the lifestyle of the triathlete, and we are honoured to have the best known brands from each of those categories support this race.”

The Nation’s Triathlon’s new partners join other official race sponsors including DOX Shots, Gatorade, Giant, The Jackson Clinics, Karhu, Pacers, Vida Fitness and Xterra Wetsuits, among several other participating and media sponsors.

The event has grown from a competition with less than 500 finishers in 2006 to being recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest international distance triathlon event in the United States. The race has sold-out each of the past five years and has attracted participation from competitors from around the world.
