Leading high performance sports apparel brand 2XU is rolling out its Teamwear division during Interbike, the international bicycle expo and North America’s largest bike industry trade show. Slated to take place from 19-21 September, Interbike provides an ideal platform for the launch of 2XU Teamwear; the brand’s comprehensive customized performance apparel category.
2XU Teamwear caters to each of the brand’s existing segments – triathlon, cycle, run. The custom apparel enables organisations to develop tailor-made customized solutions – whether it be for companies, teams or clubs.
In an initiative kick-started at last year’s Interbike show, 2XU originally confirmed plans to extend its product line to incorporate an extensive range of custom spec sublimated garments to cover the needs of athletes, teams, shops, corporate organizations and event staff across the US.
Sports Multiplied (SM), then an exclusive distributor for 2XU, and now wholly owned by the company under the new name 2XU North America LLC, undertook an initial US launch of this customised apparel offering at Interbike 2011. After receiving a positive response, 2XU and SM hired Jenn Santel to oversee and manage the new Custom Spec Apparel division for the US market.
At the recent London 2012 Paralympics, the entire Australian team was outfitted in customized official apparel developed by 2XU Teamwear.
“The 2XU Teamwear division now gives us the opportunity to deliver custom designed kits and meet the needs of the many teams and athletes looking to stand out against their competitors,” said Johnny West, Director of Brand and Sports Marketing for 2XU North America.
2XU Teamwear will be showcased within the brand’s Interbike booth (#3123) along with its run, swim, cycle and triathlon gear. Those who visit the booth will also find a sampling of the 2XU winter 2012 line. Additionally, the brand plans to exhibit its acclaimed Compression collection at booth #2123.
To celebrate the formal launch of 2XU Teamwear, Bill Humphreys, author of the best-selling book The Jersey Project will be appearing for two book signings at the 2XU booth in the Teamwear section. He will be available at 13:30 local time on Wednesday 19 September and 15:00 on Thursday 20 September.
Representatives from the 2XU Sales Team will be on hand to discuss products and various comprehensive sales packages with retailers. These packages will include Teamwear options as well.
