Aqua Sphere continues support of UK Armed Forces

Swimming kit specialist Aqua Sphere is proud to once again support the Armed Forces’ wounded heroes by donating its award winning Kayenne goggles to the UK’s Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) at Headley Court, Epsom.

The DMRC provides high quality rehabilitation for injured service personnel from all service disciplines including physical and psychological nursing support to assist them to achieve maximum independence. Its impressive facilities include a hydrotherapy pool; and it has established many links with external agencies such as the Paralympic Association and the Not Forgotten Association.

Tim Clark, Pool Manager at Headley court, said “We very much appreciate this type of support. Patients are always asking for goggles and as a swimming teacher/coach and a current serving member of the RAuxAF ( Royal Auxiliary Air Force) RAF Reserves, I know how much benefit these goggles provide.

“In addition, next year myself and several members of staff plus patients are taking part in the Ironman UK Triathlon with Team-True-Spirit (www.truespirit.org.uk) and the Kayenne will be an essential piece of our kit for training in the pool and racing in open water.”

Martin Newton, Aqua Sphere UK Sales & Marketing Manager, added “We are delighted to continue our programme of support to the pool at Headley Court. We know that this facility is critical in assisting the physical rehabilitation of injured service personnel.

“Our Kayenne goggle is critically acclaimed by leading swimmers and triathletes for its outstanding panoramic vision as well as enhanced up and down sight, and it can be comfortably worn for extended periods with minimum risk of irritation or leakage.

“Easy to fit, we design our goggles so that the swimmer can forget about them and just concentrate on getting the most out of their swim.”
