Challenge Roth, the world’s largest iron distance triathlon and the flagship event of international race organiser the Challenge Family, has sold out in record time for 2013.
When entries for next year’s event, the 12th Challenge Roth held on 14 July 2013, went on sale on 16 July at 10.00 CET, the demand for tickets was considerable. 650 relay team slots sold out in 29 minutes, 1,500 international slots sold out in 75 minutes and the slots for German nationals sold out in 53 minutes. So, once again, the race was fully booked within a single day.
While 5,000 lucky individual and relay athletes will get to experience the iconic German triathlon in 2013, many more were disappointed, with the event sign-up page receiving over 24,000 unique visitors on Monday.
Those who were not lucky enough to get a start place will have a last chance in the traditional TEAMCHALLENGE pre-Christmas initiative. On 6 December, at midday, it will again be possible for a short time to make an application for a place at Roth. As part of the pre-Christmas allotment of tickets, a part of the application fees will be donated to charity.
