GU Energy Roctane Ultra Endurance Energy Drink

GU Energy Labs, pioneer of the original energy gel, has launched Roctane Ultra Endurance Energy Drink. Billed as ‘light tasting, carbohydrate-dense’, Roctane Drink provides athletes an infusion of easily available energy with the optimal rehydration combination of sodium and potassium.
Building on the powerful platform of Roctane Gel, introduced in 2008, Roctane Drink also features: ‘taurine for improved heart and skeletal muscle function; white tea caffeine for increased power output and reduced perceived effort; and the proven Roctane Amino Blend for extra energy, reduced muscle damage and enhanced mental focus.’ Each serving delivers 240 calories, comprised of an optimal blend of complex and simple carbohydrates.
Each serving also contains 320mg of sodium and 50mg of potassium. Completing the Roctane Drink blend is Beta-Alanine, a naturally-occurring beta amino acid that, according to the company, augments muscle buffering capacity and performance to help athletes thrive throughout their most demanding training and competition.
“When athletes commit to challenges that require them to be on the bike, road or trail for over an hour and a half, they need heavy-duty nutrition to allow their body to consistently perform at maximum capacity,” said GU Energy President Brian Vaughan.
“I used Roctane Drink almost exclusively for fuel during this year’s La Ruta de los Conquistadores, and it provided consistent, powerful energy and hydration. I think other ultra endurance athletes will find it an effective, and necessary, addition to their nutrition toolbox.”
Roctane Ultra Endurance Energy Drink follows on the heels of the introduction of Roctane Gel in 2008 and will be available in Lemon Lime, Grape and Tropical Fruit flavours. The product will retail for MSRP US$2.90 per single-serving packet, US$30 per 12-serving canister, and US$45 per 24-serving canister.
Roctane Drink will be available for purchase starting this month at specialty sports retailers across the US and at GU Energy’s own online store.
