Matthias Reinacher steps up as new European MD for Pearl Izumi

Matthias Reinacher has been confirmed as the new European Managing Director for global sports apparel brand Pearl Izumi. With its ownership structure in Japan, under Shimano, the cycling, running and other technical apparel brand will be run by Reinacher from the start of 2013.
Reinacher is currently Senior Brand Manager at Pearl Izumi Europe. Based at Pearl Izumi Europe in Germany, Reinacher will replace Jürgen Sprich, who is leaving the company.
Since 2008, Pearl Izumi has been owned by Shimano, which has its European head office in the Netherlands.
Among his assignments, Reinacher is to supervise the transfer of Shimano Europe’s soft goods division from the Netherlands and its integration into the European operations of Pearl Izumi in Germany.
Shimano’s soft goods business sells apparel, footwear and eye-wear under the Shimano brand. It is understood that the product mix may be realigned to better complement Pearl Izumi’s offering.
