UK multisport retailer TFN has secured a listing for Cervélo bikes. As the company points out on its Facebook page, this is ‘Exciting news for 2012; we have now secured Cervelo… a brand we have been desperate to get for a number of years!’
The offering of Cervélo comes at an opportune moment, as the tri/TT bike specialist begins the roll-out of its much anticipated P5 model.
Based in Beeston, Nottingham, in the heart of England, TFN was one of the first triathlon stores in the UK. The retailer opened in April 1996 after 4 local triathletes spotted a gap in the market for a specific triathlon store. As the company points out, ‘triathlon itself was still a very young sport then and a big field at popular events were around 200 people.’
In the first couple of years the shop was run by one of the four partners Mark Redwood. He is the only original TFN founder who is still in the business. Back then the shop was on Huntingdon Street in Nottingham city centre. By 1999 the business had doubled in size and TFN’s e-commerce website was launched. The company moved to its current location in Beeston in late winter 2001.
