TriStar Weekend, with TriStar Lyon and TriStar Kufstein a go!

Expanding international triathlon race series TriStar has ‘two attractive events in two stunning spots in Europe’ on 15 July. Ferienland Kufstein in the Tyrol region of Austria will host the inaugural TriStar111 and TriStar55.5 Kufstein, with 350 registered athletes. Meanwhile, also this Sunday, the second edition of TriStar Lyon in France will be held in the modern and exclusive area of ‘La Confluence’. Here, more than 400 triathletes will race over 55.5K or 111K – with 1K swimming, 100K cycling and 10K running for the main TriStar111 format, and half distances for TriStar55.5.

According to TriStar brand owner Star Events, the shorter swim and run distances of the TriStar format enable shortened recovery times, giving athletes the possibility to participate in more races than before.

TriStar Kufstein
The picturesque and diverse scenery of the Kaiser mountains and the Inn valley, are seen as the perfect infrastructure for the inaugural TriStar Kufstein event, which is partnering with the city of Kufstein and tapping into a ‘booming local triathlon scene’.

TriStar Lyon
The expo village at La Confluence will accommodate the event’s 400 competitors and those accompanying them for three days. Also on hand at the event will be Performance Sports Nutrition – the 2012 official nutrition supplier of all TriStar Series events in France. Sports nutrition brand Performance will provide all event participants with energy drinks, bars and gels for all the French TriStar events (TriStar Cannes, TriStar Deauville and TriStar Lyon) and for TriStar111 Monaco on 2 September 2012.
