WTC opens up Ironman 70.3 events and sells out in the US and Europe

Ironman brand owner World Triathlon Corp (WTC) has opened up registration for a range of Ironman 70.3 events in 2013. These are: the 2013 Ironman 70.3 Raleigh, 2013 Ironman 70.3 Boise, 2013 Oread Ironman 70.3 Kansas, 2013 Ironman 70.3 Syracuse and 2013 Affresh Ironman 70.3 Muncie.

According to WTC, some of these recently opened events are already filling fast.

Highlighting the increased popularity of IM 70.3, as well as full distance Ironman races, WTC has also confirmed that Ironman 70.3 Oceanside and Ironman Lake Tahoe in California, as well as Ironman Kalmar in Sweden, have sold out.

As one of the most popular races on the international IM 70.3 circuit, the early-season Ironman 70.3 Oceanside race generally fills fast. Limited Ironman Foundation charity slots are available for IM 70.3 Oceanside, which takes place on Saturday 30 March 2013.

As a tribute to the huge success of Ironman’s first race in Sweden, the race reached capacity in just one week. The event showed just how desperately Swedish athletes wanted an Ironman event at home – this year two-thirds of the field were from the home country.

For the newly released IM 70.3 events, the entry fee opens at US$199 for individuals until 23:59 EST on 6 September 2012. On 7 September, the price will increase to US$225.
