Elite Bicycles Asia hits Singapore

02/03/2010

Elite bicycles – the US road, triathlon and speciality bike manufacturer based in Philadelphia – has made its debut in Singapore.

Located at Duxton Hill in the heart of Singapore’s bustling Central Business District, Elite Bicycles Asia offers ‘top quality bicycles that are cut to measure and tailor-made for the individual, ensuring optimal handling, safety and performance.’

Every Elite bicycle is completely handmade in the US from fabrication to finish and the frame is specifically built to fit the rider. Positioned at delivering bikes for athletes of all levels, Elite states that it ‘provides an alternative to the mass-produced cookie cutter options sold by most bicycle companies.’

In an effort to provide an advanced option to the existing market in Asia, company directors Daphne Wee and Adeline Khoo are introducing Elite Bicycles to Singapore, the first store to be launched outside of the US. The former NYC based Certified Public Accountants are avid triathletes and have completed many races of various distances, from sprints to Ironman, worldwide.

“We knew we had found what we were looking for when David [Greenfield, President of Elite Bicycles Inc] explained to us how the bike has to be built to the rider. Up until then, fitters were trying to force a position that didn’t make sense to me,” said Adeline Khoo, Director of Elite Bicycles Asia.

Elite’s triathlon bike portfolio includes the Razor Carbon the company’s ‘top tier, fully customized triathlon frameset’. The regular Razor bike, as with the Razor Carbon, is a fully customized triathlon frameset that is cut and measured to meet the exact needs of each individual rider.

In addition to the custom Razor and Razor Carbon bikes, Elite has two stock bikes – the T-Class and Magnus. Elite’s T-Class tri bike, at less than 2.5 lbs average weight, is billed as ‘one of the lightest, also one of the most aerodynamic stock frames available.’ The Magnus is a 7005 Aluminium build with full Easton carbon seat stays.
